One of the benefits of being a member of GSE is the possibility to post feature requests to IBM by using the GSE Requirements System. Rune Hellem, the chairman of the WebSphere working group has filled a request for a new feature in IBM Workplace Web Content Management (WCM). Today it is not possible to override the default content type in WCM, it will always be text/html. This is a problem when creating RSS-feeds from WCM. RSS-feeds should be of content type application/XML or else RSS readers such as Notes 8 will not read them.

So now the feature request is posted to IBM's FITS-database, and it will be up to IBM to consider this request. But, without the membership of GSE and the use of the requirements system Rune would not have had the oppurtunity to make this request at all.
