IMS Connect acts as a gateway that allows external applications to access IMS databases and transaction processing capabilities via TCP/IP, while OTMA (Open Transaction Manager Access) is the underlying communication protocol used by IMS Connect to send transactions to IMS. This session provides a general overview of both IMS Connect and OTMA.

This session explains how to activate the transaction orchestration, how to manage the transaction orchestration for messages, and tips of developing client applications using the transaction orchestration.
